§ 19. Mr. ISAAC FOOTasked the Home Secretary if he can give any information upon the action of the French authorities in declining to accept the postal application of British citizens for tickets in the recent French public lotteries; and whether such action was the result of any representations made from this country?
§ Sir J. GILMOURI have no information on this subject other than statements which I have seen in the Press to the effect that applications by post from persons in this country for tickets in this lottery were not entertained by the French authorities. No representations on this subject have been made to the French Government by His Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. FOOTIf it is found upon inquiry that such action was taken by the French authorities, can that example be passed on to the authorities of the Irish Free State?
