§ 52. Mr. STANLEYThe railway companies assure me that they are continuing to give consideration to this matter, but at 921 present I have no information with regard to any schemes of main-line electrification which are likely to be proceeded with in the near future.
§ 53. Mr. DORANasked the Minister of Transport if the recent plans for the electrification of some of their suburban services, submitted to him by the London and North Eastern Railway Company, included the branch to Tottenham and beyond?
Mr. STANLEYI am informed by the London and North Eastern Railway Company that the schemes for the electrification of their Great Eastern suburban services at present under consideration by them and the Standing Joint Committee set up under the London Passenger Transport Act do not include the line to Tottenham and beyond.
