asked the President of the Board of Trade how the proportion of British imports from and exports to Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the Argentine for the past four months, respectively, compare with similar proportions for the same four months in 1932?

As the answer involves a number of figures, I will circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following is the answer:

Particulars of the aggregate value of our trade with individual countries are normally compiled in respect of calendar years and quarterly periods only and the figures for four months are not, therefore, readily available. The following table shows the total declared value of merchandise imported into and exported from the United Kingdom, as registered during the three months ended 30th September, 1932 and 1933, respectively, together with the amount and proportion consigned from and to each of the countries specified.
