HC Deb 31 May 1933 vol 278 c1866
33. Mr. GRAHAM WHITE

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs if the Canadian Tariff Board is now fully constituted; if it has heard any applications; and, if so, with what results?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for DOMINION AFFAIRS (Mr. Malcolm MacDonald)

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which my right hon. Friend gave to him in reply to a similar question on the 10th May. My right hon. Friend understands that the Canadian Tariff Board is engaged in a preliminary examination into certain questions which arise in connection with the applications at present before it.

Mr. MANDER

Does my hon. Friend consider that eight months delay is reasonable?

Mr. MacDONALD

I would refer my hon. Friend to an answer given to a supplementary question on the occasion I have mentioned.

Mr. LAWS0N

Can the hon. Gentleman say whether his right hon. Friend is giving his attention to these matters at the present moment?
