HC Deb 31 May 1933 vol 278 cc1867-8
15. Captain PETER MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether all necessary arrangements, with regard to landing grounds and other services, have been made in Malaya to enable the London-Australian air route to be commenced in accordance with the scheduled dates?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

Ground facilities for aircraft already exist in Malaya and the Governments concerned have agreed to make these available for use by Imperial Airways in connection with the proposed air service to Australia. I understand that the question whether any relatively small additional facilities will be needed is now under examination by the company.

Captain HAROLD BALFOUR

Will these facilities be available for other lines than Imperial Airways?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

I should like notice of that question.
