HC Deb 17 May 1933 vol 278 cc342-3
12. Sir B. FALLE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many allotments, monthly or weekly, a naval rating is allowed to have in force at one time; what is the number now declared to wives, dependants, and tradesmen, respectively; and how much it is estimated to cost the country to handle these allotments?

Lord STANLEY

Notice of this question was only given on Monday last, and therefore did not come to the notice of the Department until yesterday. To furnish replies to the second and third parts, inquiries are necessary which will require at least a week, and I will furnish the information when it has been obtained. As regards the first part of the question there is no limit to the number of allotments a naval rating may have in force subject to the total not exceeding six-sevenths of his weekly rate of pay.
