HC Deb 16 May 1933 vol 278 c196
44. Mr. TINKER

asked the Minister of Pensions the number of cases at present that are in receipt of treatment allowances; and will he give the figures for the 12 months ending 1932?

The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Major Tryon)

I regret that, without analysis of all the individual accounts, it is not possible to give the precise information asked for by the hon. Member. I may say, however, that at the end of April of this year, apart from those in mental hospitals, there were 3,020 men in hospital receiving medical or surgical treatment from the Ministry and certainly the great Majority of these would be in receipt of treatment allowances. The corresponding figure at the end of December, 1932, was 2,981.
