HC Deb 15 May 1933 vol 278 c9
16. Major HILLS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any further information to give the House about the British officers carried off by Chinese pirates?

Sir J. SIMON

The Japanese official handling this case is now in touch with the bandits through an emissary who is endeavouring to negotiate the release of the captives. Meanwhile, letters dated the 5th May have been received from each of them through another channel. They state that they are in fairly good health.
