HC Deb 10 May 1933 vol 277 c1528
22. Mr. NUNN

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he will consider prolonging the projected British air mail service from Singapore to Shanghai, in view of the air services now running from Shanghai to the Upper Yangtze and other parts of the interior of China and to Peking?

Sir P. SASSOON

This matter is already under consideration, but I am not at present in a position to make any statement on the subject. My hon. Friend will see, however, that such a possibility has been brought a step nearer by the agreement embodied in the White Paper on the Karachi-Singapore Service.

Mr. NUNN

Will the right hon. Gentleman take advantage of the presence in this country at the present time of General Ping-Hung Whang of the Chinese Aviation Bureau to discuss the matter with him?

Sir P. SASSOON

I will consider that point.
