HC Deb 03 May 1933 vol 277 c822
4. Mr. COCKS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can make a statement regarding the relations between Japan and Soviet Russia in the Far East?

Mr. BALDWIN

So far as I am aware Japan and Soviet Russia are in normal diplomatic relations. There have been reports recently of a dispute between the Soviet Government and the Manchurian authorities in connection with the working of the Chinese Eastern Railway, particularly the ownership or location of certain locomotives and rolling stock, but I have no reason to suppose that this is not capable of adjustment in the ordinary way. Apart from this, there is nothing which appears to call for comment.
