HC Deb 03 May 1933 vol 277 cc837-8
42. Mr. SMITHERS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the source of the excess of approximately £5,500,000 of Miscellaneous Receipts actually received in the past year over the estimate for that year?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Hore-Belisha)

The surplus was due chiefly to receipts being greater than was anticipated under two heads: profits of the Issue Department of the Bank of England, and surplus Appropriations-in-Aid.

Mr. SMITHERS

Will the hon. Member publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the full details?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

They are published in the finance accounts of the United Kingdom.

Mr. SMITHERS

Are they there now?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

Yes, or they will be.
