HC Deb 03 May 1933 vol 277 cc838-9
44. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he proposes to repeal Part III of the Finance Act, 1931?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

As both the valuation and the tax prescribed under Part III of the Finance Act, 1931, are at present suspended, this matter is not of much practical importance, and my right hon. Friend has not yet arrived at a decision as to whether it should be the subject of a Clause in the Finance Bill or not.

Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

Is the hon. Member aware that Conservative opinion in the country is very anxious about this matter?
