HC Deb 01 May 1933 vol 277 c486
10. Mr. CHORLTON

asked the Secretary of State for India if he is aware of the ban on imported British cotton goods by the Cotton Goods Combination of Karachi; and what steps he proposes to take to have it removed?

Sir S. HOARE

I have seen a reference to this embargo in the Press, from which I gather that it has been imposed in order to help to reduce stocks of piece goods already awaiting distribution and is not confined in its operation to British goods. I am asking for further information from India.
