asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the num- ber of proposals put forward by the different Scottish burghs in favour of official sanction to reproductive works for the relief of unemployment; and whether he will mention in each case the name of the town concerned?

My sanction is not required to reproductive works for the relief of unemployment, and accordingly no proposals are received by me.
