asked the Minister of Agriculture the present market prices per cwt. for the best home cattle; and how these figures compare with similar prices for each of the last five years?


The average price of first quality fat cattle at certain representative markets in England and Wales for the week ending 15th March, 1933, was 41s. 6d. per live cwt. The prices for the corresponding weeks in the previous five years were as follows: 1932, 47s. 7d.; 1931, 48s. 3d.; 1930, 54s. 4d.; 1929, 52s. 8d.; 1928, 55s. 1d.
