HC Deb 22 March 1933 vol 276 c317
14. Mr. TINKER (for Mr. PARKINSON)

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give any information regarding the proposal of the expenditure advisory committee in Kenya Colony for the abolition of the native registration system?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

The report of the committee has been submitted to the Governor, and it is now under examination. One of the recommendations is that the central organisation of the native registration section should be abolished, but the committee expressly stated that this proposal in no way involves the discontinuance of the system. I am arranging for a copy of the report, which I have only just received, to be placed in the Library of the House and I would refer the hon. Member to paragraphs 143–145 and 417–419.
