WOODIn pursuance of the recommendations of the Bridgeman Committee, I have decided to cancel the rule prohibiting the employment of female telephone operators after 8 p.m. Liability to perform such duty within certain limitations will be imposed upon future entrants to the service, but, so far as the existing staff are concerned, the duty will be on a voluntary basis.
