HC Deb 16 March 1933 vol 275 cc2137-8
67. Mr. LEWIS

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will state for the last complete year for which figures are available the value, respectively, of the production in this country of eggs and poultry on the one hand and wheat, barley, and oats on the other hand?

Major ELLIOT

The value of the output from holdings over 1 acre in England and Wales in 1931–32 may be estimated provisionally at about £19,500,000 in the case of poultry and eggs, and £11,000,000 for wheat, barley and oats. The latter figure does not include the proportion of the crops retained on farms for seed or feed.
