HC Deb 14 March 1933 vol 275 cc1767-8
13. Mr. SMEDLEY CROOKE

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office if, in view of the recent cut in the pay of the reservists, and taking into account that payments are not made in advance and that many reservists are now suffering privations, he will arrange for the payment to be made monthly?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Duff Cooper)

In view of the extra work and expense that would be involved in making these payments 12 times a year instead of four as at present, I regret that I am unable to adopt my hon. Friend's suggestion.
