HC Deb 14 March 1933 vol 275 c1767
8. Mr. ROBINSON (for Mr. CHORL-TON)

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he has yet been able to make arrangements to overcome the effect on our export trade of the frozen remittances regulations in many countries; and, if not, what action he proposes to take?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The lines on which His Majesty's Government are endeavouring to meet the position are indicated in the replies given to my hon. Friend on the 20th October and 13th February.

Mr. HAMMERSLEY

Can my right hon. Friend say when the report from the committee which is looking into this matter may be expected?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

No, Sir, I am afraid I cannot say, but I have no doubt that they are pressing on with their work as rapidly as possible.
