HC Deb 13 March 1933 vol 275 c1585
1. Mr. GEORGE HALL

asked the Secretary of State for India what amount has been borrowed by the Government of Burma from the Government of Indian respect of Budget deficit in the last financial year, and on what terms; and whether it is anticipated that further borrowings will be necessary?

The SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Sir Samuel Hoare)

In the year ending March, 1932, the revenue receipts of the Government of Burma exceeded the expenditure charged to revenue. The first part of the question does not therefore arise. Further loan operations by the Government of Burma must clearly be dependent on future developments, which cannot be forecast.
