In addition there are adding and listing machines in all pay offices in which the bulk of the work justifies their use. The total figure is about 75.

§ Mr. COOPERThe total personnel of the War Office, including the financial staff at out-stations, temporary typists, messengers, cleaners, etc., for the financial year 1933 will be 2,246. The corresponding number for 1914 is 1,878.

§ Mr. COOPERThe total civilian personnel of the financial staff at the War Office shown on page 223 of the Army Estimates for the financial year 1933 is 264. I am unable at such short notice to state the number who have had actual experience in the out-stations, as this information could only be obtained by an examination of the records of the whole of the personnel.
