§ 2. Mr. T. WILLIAMSasked the Secretary of State for India the number of Indians who have been repatriated from tine Federated Malay States in each of the past five years; and whether the Government of India has under consideration a revision of their emigration policy?
§ Mr. BUTLERWith the hon. Member's permission I will circulate the figures in the OFFICIAL REPORT. AS regards the latter part of the question, I have no information. Owing to the depression in the rubber industry, emigration to Malaya from India has for the present practically ceased.
§ Mr. WILLIAMSDo I understand the hon. Gentleman to imply that voluntary emigration has practically ceased?
§ Mr. BUTLERI understand that emigration to Malay from India has at the present moment practically ceased.
