HC Deb 22 June 1933 vol 279 c915
6. Mr. HENDERSON STEWART

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can make any statement on the question of the application of unemployment insurance to fishermen; and what changes are contemplated.

Mr. HUDSON

My right hon. Friend cannot make any statement in advance of the introduction of the Bill.

Mr. STEWART

Can the hon. Gentleman give us an assurance that, in considering this matter, full opportunity will be given to the representatives of the herring fishing industry to state their case?

Mr. HUDSON

I shall be very glad to discuss the matter with my hon. Friend if he cares to come and see me.
