HC Deb 22 June 1933 vol 279 cc916-7
18. Mr. PARKINSON

asked the Minister of Health if he has considered the resolution submitted by the insurance committee for the borough of Wigan, calling his attention to the number of unemployed persons who will lapse from insurance and be disentitled to medical benefit at the end of December, 1933; if so, will he state the nature of his reply; and whether he proposes to take any action by which persons who have been continuously unemployed will retain insurance and medical benefits?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Sir Hilton Young)

I have received and acknowledged the communication to which the hon. Member refers. As regards the last part of the question, I cannot add anything to my reply of 9th March to the hon. Member for Walsall (Mr. Leckie), and other previous replies on the subject of persons who will lapse from insurance at the end of this year.
