I regret that the information is not available, as statistics of imports into the United Kingdom are not compiled in respect of periods of less than a calendar month.

Has the hon. and gallant Gentleman any reason to believe that the quantities are in excess of the amount provided for in the trade agreement?

No, Sir. In point of fact, the quantity mentioned in the trade agreement has not yet begun to operate, but in the month of May the quantity imported was considerably less than in May of last year.
