asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of pairs of footwear imported from Czechoslovakia during the three years preceding the imposition of tariffs, and subsequent imports to the latest convenient date?

The total number of boots and shoes of all kinds imported into this country during the years 1929, 1930 and 1931 and registered as consigned from Czechoslovakia was 93,000, 142,000 and 301,000 dozen pairs, respectively. The number so imported during the 12 months ended May, 1933, was 94,000 dozen pairs.
