§ Lieut.-Colonel COLVILLEI have not complete information as to the value of goods actually imported from the Soviet Union under licence, but up to the 14th June licences have been issued for the importation of Russian goods to the value of approximately £126,000.
§ Mr. ANSTRUTHER-GRAYIs my hon. and gallant Friend aware that these large importations under licence are very much against the spirit and the effective working of the embargo?
§ Lieut.-Colonel COLVILLENo, I cannot agree with my hon. Friend. The licences have been issued in conformity with the principle that a considerable amount of prepayment must be made before any licences are given.
