HC Deb 14 June 1933 vol 279 cc157-8
15. Mr. LOUIS SMITH

asked the Postmaster-General by what method it is proposed to allocate to advertising British air mail services the surplus which resulted from air mail operations during 1932?

The ASSISTANT POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Sir Ernest Bennett)

The sum provided for advertising the air mail service will be allocated to Press advertising, the exhibition of posters on mail vans and in post offices, the issue of literature describing the advantages offered by the air mail, and the provision of air mail boxes.

Mr. SMITH

Has the hon. Gentleman received from British representatives in continental countries in respect of any air mail services reports as to methods of advertising; and, if not, will he obtain such reports?

Sir E. BENNETT

I have not received any yet. I shall be glad to receive them.
