HC Deb 13 June 1933 vol 279 cc10-1
17. Mr. WALLHEAD (for Dr. WILLIAMS)

asked the Minister of Labour the number of persons classed as seasonal workers in the Wales division who have been deprived of unemployment benefit in the last two years?

Sir H. BETTERTON

Between 19th October, 1931, the date on which claims were first considered by courts of referees under the anomalies regulations, and 31st May, 1933, 2,047 claims for benefit or transitional payments were disallowed by courts of referees in the Wales division under the regulation relating to seasonal workers making claims during the off-season. The figure relates to claims and the number of separate individuals concerned is not available.
