HC Deb 13 June 1933 vol 279 c4
14. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE (for Brigadier General CLIFTON BROWN)

asked the Minister of Agriculture what is the position as regards the recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease; and whether any areas are still controlled as infected areas?

Major ELLIOT

Two outbreaks were confirmed at Stanton Fitzwarren near Swindon on 24th and 26th May, respectively. The infected area was reduced to a radius of 5 miles on the 10th of June, and it is hoped if nothing untoward occurs to remove the general restrictions on or about the 17th June. This is the only infected area now existing in the country.
