asked the President of the Board of Trade if he can state the number of ships flying the British flag which are not registered at ports in Great Britain?

Dr. BURGIN

The number of vessels registered under Part I of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, that remained on the register at ports of the British Empire, outside Great Britain, at the end of the year 1932 was about 18,550.
