HC Deb 25 July 1933 vol 280 cc2387-8
13. Mr. GRAHAM WHITE

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs, if he is now in a position to make a statement with regard to the Canadian import duties on British bituminous coal?

The SECRETARY of STATE for DOMINION AFFAIRS (Mr. J. H. Thomas)

I am not yet in a position to add to the answer which was given to the hon. Member for the Colne Valley (Mr. Mallalieu) on 20th June. The matter is receiving close consideration.

Mr. WHITE

Having regard to the delays which have taken place, will the right hon. Gentleman make representations to the Dominion Government?

Mr. THOMAS

Since the arrival in this country of the representatives of the. Dominions almost daily conversations have taken place, and there is an arrangement to discuss this and other matters outstanding while the representatives are in this country.
