HC Deb 24 July 1933 vol 280 c2207
12. Sir ASSHETON POWNALL

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the present position with regard to the negotiations begun in January, 1927, with the Portuguese Government on the subject of flag discrimination?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Eden)

Agreement has been reached in principle with the Portuguese Government for the abolition of the discrimination upon certain terms. These terms have been embodied in a draft agreement which it is hoped to submit shortly to the Portuguese Government.
