asked the Prime Minister whether in view of the presence in London of representatives of Empire countries, it is proposed to hold an emergency Empire Economic Conference before their departure?

42. Mr. ALAN TODD

asked the Prime Minister whether in view of the breakdown of the World Economic Conference, he will consider asking representatives of the self-governing Dominions to remain in London with a view to holding an Empire Conference to safeguard the position of this country and of the Dominions?

The PRIME MINISTER

The work of the Monetary and Economic Conference is continuing, and on all the questions under discussion at the Conference, His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom are constantly in consultation with the representatives in London of the other members of the British Commonwealth.
