HC Deb 10 July 1933 vol 280 cc747-8
32. Captain P. MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the attack by two men armed, respectively, with a shot-gun and a knife, upon the staff of Messrs. Dibdin, Jewellers, of Sloane Street, London, on Tues- day, 27th June; and what steps have been taken by the Metropolitan Police to ascertain the names of the civilians whose gallantry led to the capture of these men, in order that they may be suitably thanked by the authorities for the assistance rendered by them.?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Douglas Hacking)

As proceedings are pending in this case, it would not be proper for me to say more than that the names of the individuals in question are already known to the Commissioner of Police, who always takes care to mark his appreciation of services rendered to the police by members of the public in such circumstances.
