HC Deb 06 July 1933 vol 280 c498
38. Duchess of ATHOLL

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, seeing that the Order under the Merchandise Marks Act relating to foreign imported oat products is of little value as it does not apply to the sale of parcels of less than 14 lbs., he will make the Order applicable to the quantities for which there is the largest sale?

Sir FREDERICK THOMSON (Treasurer of the Household)

I have been asked the reply. The Order referred to in the question is in accordance with the recommendation of the Standing Committee charged with inquiries under the Act, and no amendment of the Order could be made without fresh inquiry. My right hon. Friend has at present under consideration representations received with regard to the Order.
