HC Deb 05 July 1933 vol 280 c324
25. Mr. CADOGAN

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that boys in the Borstal institution at Camp Hill are at present using the hospital at Parkhurst convict prison; and whether it would be possible to provide hospital accommodation at Camp Hill instead?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The use of the hospital at Parkhurst for Borstal inmates from Camp Hill was a temporary arrangement only pending the provision of hospital accommodation at Camp Hill. A hospital has now been opened in the Borstal institution at Camp Hill, and inmates of the institution will no longer be sent to the Parkhurst hospital, unless in some special emergency temporary removal is necessary for a major operation before the operating theatre at Camp Hill can be completed.
