HC Deb 04 July 1933 vol 280 cc157-8
11. Mr. LUNN

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs if he is now in a position to make a statement regarding the action to be taken by the Government in the United Kingdom on the report of the Royal Commission on Migrant Land Settlement in Victoria, Australia?

undermentioned countries during each of the years 1919 to 1932:

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

I regret that I am not yet in a position to make a statement on this subject but perhaps my hon. Friend would repeat his question next week.

Mr. LUNN

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that it is more than three months since the Commission reported, and is it not time that some drastic action was taken to obtain some decision from the Australian Government ?

Mr. THOMAS

I entirely associate myself with the hon. Gentleman's statement. It is, in my judgment, an unnecessary delay, but I am pressing the matter as hard as I can.
