asked the President of the Board of Trade the quantity of cotton spinning and weaving machinery exported from this country to Japan, China and India during each of the years since 1919; and the total value of such machinery for each year?

Dr. BURGIN

Particulars of the exports of cotton spinning and weaving machinery are not recorded separately in the United Kingdom trade returns, but I am circulating in the OFFICIAL REPORT a table showing the exports of textile machinery for spinning and weaving, and parts thereof, consigned to the countries mentioned, during each of the years 1919 to 1932.

Will the hon. Member say whether these exports are continuing up to date

With regard to the textile machines exported, can the hon. Member say whether they were automatic looms?
