asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give figures for 1932 and for 1933 to the latest possible date showing the houses completed by local authorities with State assistance, by private enterprise with State assistance, and without State assistance, respectively?

During the year ended the 31st December, 1932, the numbers of houses completed in Scotland were 11,631 by local authorities, 4,187 by assisted private enterprise, and 1,720 by unassisted private enterprise. During the first five months of 1933, 5,695 houses were completed by local authorities and 1,484 by assisted private enterprise. The number of houses completed in this period by unassisted private enterprise is not available, as returns for these houses are received only annually for the calendar year.
