HC Deb 04 July 1933 vol 280 c169
41. Sir FRANK SANDERSON

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is now in a position to state how many women were debarred on account of age from securing establishment under the Report of Committee E; and what would be the cost of allowing such officers to count such period of their temporary service for superannuation purposes as would render them technically eligible for establishment?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

In reply to the first part of the question, I regret that full information is not yet available. It, is, however, clear that an extension, as suggested in the second part, of the coniderable concession made in accordance with the Temporary Staffs Committee Report in regard to counting past temporary service for pension would involve a further considerable expenditure. No justification is seen for re-opening the matter.
