§ Sir H. BETTERTONThe average numbers of insured persons in the coal mining industry classification recorded as unemployed in 1930, 1931 and 1932 were 219,230; 297,624 and 355,325 respectively. Statistics are not available regarding the number of coalminers to whom training was given nor the number transferred through the Employment Exchanges to other industries.
