HC Deb 16 February 1933 vol 274 cc1178-9
73. Major the Marquess of TITCH-FIELD

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that, although the meat quota restrictions have prevented a slide in English meat prices, the farmer is still unable to make a profit on existing prices; and whether it is the intention of the Government to further restrict by agreement the meat quota?

The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Major Elliot)

I would refer my Noble Friend to the replies which were given on 7th and 9th February respectively to my right hon. Friend the Member for South Molton (Mr. Lambert) and my hon. Friend the Member for Colchester (Mr. Lewis) of which, I am sending him copies.
