asked the Secretary for Mines if he is in a position to give the names of the committee he intends to set up to inquire into and study possible improvements in the equipment and practice for the prevention of accidents from overwinding in mines?

The Committee will be constituted as follows:

Mr. F. H. Wynne, His Majesty's Deputy Chief Inspector of Mines will be Chairman and the members will be:

The terms of reference are: To inquire into the precautions against overwinding which are or could be taken when persons are raised or lowered in mine shafts; and to make recommendations.

Can the hon. Gentleman say whether the report will be submitted to the House before receiving the sanction of the Mines Department?
