HC Deb 15 February 1933 vol 274 cc1145-6

10.59 p.m.

Mr. HOWARD GRITTEN

I beg to move, That this House views with grave concern the deplorable condition of the fishing industry and urges the Government to render speedy assistance to this important and essential industry. The Motion calls attention to the deplorable condition of the fishing industry in this country. It is obviously impossible to open a case of this magnitude in about half a minute and, therefore, I do not propose to enter into any detail. I have put down a question for Monday, to ask the Prime Minister whether in view of the distress in the trade the Government will assign a special day for a Debate of this important and pressing question—

It being Eleven of the Clock, the Debate stood adjourned.
