§ 58. Mr. CLARRYasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the reason for the delay in appointing a successor to Lord D'Abernon, who resigned some months ago from the chairmanship of the Racecourse Betting Control Board?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINSome delay has been caused by the fact that the gentleman who was invited to fill the vacancy found himself unable for private reasons to accept the appointment. I hope to be able to name Lord D'Abernon's successor before very long.
§ Mr. CLARRYIs it a fact that one member of the board has not attended a single meeting during the past 2½ years?
