HC Deb 09 February 1933 vol 274 c337
20. Mr. DORAN

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department the grounds on which Emma Goldman was allowed a passport into this country when it was known that she was an undesirable alien and that the sole purpose, according to her own statements, of her visit to this country was to stir up sedition?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Oliver Stanley)

So far as my right hon. Friend is aware, Miss Emma Goldman is a British subject by marriage, and my right hon. Friend has no power to place restrictions on the landing of British subjects in this country.
