HC Deb 12 December 1933 vol 284 c190
31. Mr. HEPWORTH

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department what special steps are being taken to popularise information about the British Industries Fair in those countries where the competition of trade rivals is notably severe in main lines of commercial activity?

Lieut.-Colonel J. COLVILLE (Secretary, Overseas Trade Department)

As the British Industries Fair is organised on a self-supporting basis the funds available for publicity and propaganda are necessarily limited. Steps have, however, been taken to provide the overseas officers of the Department of Overseas Trade stationed in such countries as my hon. Friend refers to with special financial assistance so far as the funds available will permit, to enable them to make the Fair known in their districts.
