8. Commander MARSDEN

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the officers of His Majesty's Fleet have in any way been consulted as to the impending changes in the travel by railway by officers below the rank of commander?

Lord STANLEY

The decision of His Majesty's Government in this matter affects all the Services of the Crown, and the Board of Admiralty, as representing Naval opinion, were previously consulted.

Commander MARSDEN

The particular question was whether officers in command of sea-going fleets had been consulted.

Lord STANLEY

In all these matters the naval members of the Board are the advisers of my right hon. Friend.

Lieut.-Commander AGNEW

Can the Noble Lord say whether these officers wear uniform?

Lord STANLEY

No.

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether officers of His Majesty's Navy below the rank of commander when travelling abroad on duty after 1st May next will be required to travel third class on foreign railways?
